Here's a bit about me......
From when I was in my mid-twenties I decided that working for the man was not for me. I had already finished my studies and started working in an office where pretty quickly I realized that life as I knew it had changed for the worst. Begging to get time off, treated like a commodity and underappreciated I knew that it wasn't going to last in an office job.
Thats when Peggy, a friend of mine and I opened our own restaurant. I had built up the cooking skills during my study years working as a pizza chef and dreamt of having my own place. It was very hard at first by with youthful determination we made it work. For 14 years we had the business, and it was very profitable but like all good things they must come to an end, and we sold the business for great money.
During that time Peggy had a family nursing home which also was sold. What did we take away from those years owning a traditional business? Well, they are money intensive to start, they have never ending overheads and managing staff came be a nightmare. You can never really take your eyes off the ball because before you know it, they are going under. During these years I had developed an engineering consulting business on the side which allowed me to work where I pleased but Peggy was in a corporate roll which restricted our freedom. So that's when we found this opportunity Peggy jumped in feet first and was able to quit her corporate role back in 2019.
